Packaging: The Path to Sustainability

The second instalment in our ‘Path to Sustainability’ series focuses on the area of spirits production that arguably most impacts the end consumer: packaging. Beyond protecting the liquid, the packaging is a visual and tangible touchpoint in the whisky-buying experience. Producers have been experimenting with all manner of materials to present their liquid in the never-ending quest to minimise our environmental impact while delivering a quality experience for the consumer. In this session, we’ll be diving deep into the world of sustainable packaging, covering everything from gift boxes and tins to outer DTC packaging, even the bottles and closures themselves. We’ll be exploring best practices, consumer trends around gifting and recycling and other truly innovative solutions.
