Acting as both a strategic and executional bridge between brand management, trade marketing and sales team, the Head of Trade Marketing enables trade marketing strategies and programs which result in
1) Strong trade engagement in the on and off channels
2) High consumer pull, indicative by ROS growth
3) Brand equity building within the trade channels.
This is a consulting style role providing insight to DV partners and founders within the portfolio teams. This will be a many-to-one relationship, where balancing the nuance of each brand and the need for execution will be at the heart of the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with Portfolio Company marketing teams to bridge brand and consumer strategy into trade engagement and activation strategy.
- Coaches and guides Portfolio Company marketing and sales teams in the development of commercial programs; shares best practices and supports the development of best-in-class trade marketing tools.
- Develops framework for the management and tracking of program performance and reports periodically on their effectiveness.Supplements Portfolio company staff as needed (new to market or priorto larger funding).
- Supports Portfolio Company annual planning process and guides improvement of trade marketing strategy; provokes big ideas and development of innovative strategy for stronger trade engagement andconsumer pull.
- Shares trade marketing expertise in an actionable form which drives a collaborative team environment while achieving sales goals and marketing objectives.
- Develops trade marketing best practices and frameworks to illustratebase line expectations for portfolio companies in the areas of:
Role of Trade Marketing
- Trade Activation Strategy [both on & off channels]

- Trade communities building (i.e. Bartender Guild, Tradeshows,etc...)
- E-commerce (i.e. enthusiast clubs, ReserveBar, etc.)
- Trade Marketing / commercial programming calendar trackers
- Trade Marketing budget tracker
- Enhances trade marketing network of service providers
ABOUT YOU
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- College degree (marketing or related field preferred)
- 6-10 years in beverage alcohol marketing and/or sales with significant exposure to trade marketing roles in a best-in-class environment
SKILLS
- Strong project management, analysis and reporting skills
- Comprehensive understanding of hree tier trade channels and marketing compliance
- Trade marketing presentations and calendars
- Agency management for promotional materials, events and sampling
- Utilisation of data and qualitative inputs to formulate commercialstrategies and programs
- Highly articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Influences and works collaboratively with others to reach business goals
- Prioritisation and ability to develop content/approaches to meet majorityof needs enabling speed and ease of deployment
OTHER
- Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
